Hard Hitting tips for Business Success

It always amazes me how many people say they don’t have the time to spend on business development, but yet spend so much time watching soaps or making excuses why things don’t get done. So what are you going to sacrifice to succeed in business?

Coping with outside influences

Another week has gone by with some typical British summer weather, which has played havoc with peoples plans up and down the country. However as with each person that has lived in Britain for at least one summer, you know not to expect much from the weather.

Confidence Talk - 'The Voice' true talent

I have been watching the TV program 'The Voice' a talent competition for singers. The format for the first few weeks is that the singer will come on and sing whilst the judge’s chairs are turned round.  If the judges like the voice they will turn their chair round to face the singer; this indicates that the judge is willing to mentor the contestant.

Body Confidence – Beauty Debate

The hot topic at the moment has been the article that Samantha Brick wrote about how being beautiful had always caused her difficulties with other women. This was scrutinized at an international level with many people insulting her.

How to determine your next move?

Now that the University American Football season is over I have time for a more relaxing pastime like a round of golf. This hobby at times is the most frustrating thing in the world and at others you can feel like a world beater; It is a very up and down game.

Getting and Keeping in Shape for the Future

With the season being over, the offseason begins. The offseason for our team is in the summer months which is a nice time to have it, as it gives you the chance for a BBQ rather than building a snowman. During this time each player looks at themselves and thinks what he can do to be better next year, what changes do I need to make to improve? This usually starts with getting into a superior physical shape than before.

Body Confidence – Seasons

I know it has turned cold again but last week we had a few lovely days of sunshine, which always puts a spring in my step. But after talking to people around me – sunshine brings dread to some people. Dilemmas about what to wear, wanting to cling to black clothing, showing there arms and legs. I have been having a sort out of clothes myself and realise that I was one of those people who wore black all the time.

How to bounce back from defeat!

This weekend’s defeat for the Nottingham Trent Renegades meant the end of another season for the team.   It came in the semi finals of the national championships so it was quite a big stage.  The effect of the loss was profound on the team and coaching staff because  it had been a while since we have had to deal with defeat.

Body Talk - Future Generations

As adults we have to be aware of the language we use – be it verbal language, body language or the language of 'Presentation'.  Why? because  we are surrounded by the next generation and they see and feel what is happening and how we emanate it, i.e. we can and do affect them as much with our positivity as with our negativity.

What does your public image say about you?

Last week at Nottingham Trent University was election week for potential student union representatives.
