Trainer on confidence building, assertiveness and belly dancing

(It was the half a bar of chocolate that clinched it.)

It was the half a bar of chocolate that clinched it. I'd met Sharon at a party and talking together we decided to discuss me working with Vision. I kept putting it off till the day she left me half a bar of chocolate at my office and promised me the other half when we got together.

That was five years ago and since then it's been a roller coaster ride with me taking on increasing amounts of training for Vision across a wide variety of organisations. Once Sharon had settled me into the Vision team, then she and Brendan started working on me to start my own business.

Me run a business? No way! But here I am now with my own belly dancing business where I teach, give displays, sell accessories and generally am being pushed to have my own empire. Just kidding.

I'm still training for Vision, of course. What impressed me with the first project was how thorough they are in their planning of every detail for the training. Their experience running public events now shows up in how they deliver each training with outcomes specified from the beginning.

It's not every company that can manage a multi-disciplinary event like the one Vision put on for Nottingham City Council in 2004 with drumming, belly dancing and a variety of workshops through the day.

On a personal level I can testify to Sharon's care of me when I took on a new type of training with challenging clients. With her at the end of the phone or a quick meeting to let off steam got me through and at the end the feedback from clients was positive.

And that's another thing. Brendan always writes to me to let me know about positive feedback from training I've done. Being valued and being recognised for the good work is wonderful - and the end of project parties are great fun too.

Knowing how carefully they select staff you can bet we feel pretty special to be part of the Vision team. Despite the fact that they're growing fast, that's not changing. And I bet however big we grow Sharon and Brendan won't lose sight of the fact that the team is all of us.

Care to join us and be part of something wonderful?
